Sogeviso’s Social Contract, with its social mentoring and work placement project aimed at vulnerable families with a social rental contract, was recognised by the SERES Foundation as one of the business actions that help to improve society and reduce the existing gap with the most disadvantaged groups

On the evening of 21 November, the Teatro Real in Madrid hosted the SERES 2023 Awards, which pays tribute to those business actions that, as part of the strategy, help to improve society and reduce the gap with the most disadvantaged groups. Sogeviso was one of the four award-winning companies among the hundred or so initiatives received by the SERES Foundation, according to its chairman, Fernando Ruiz, who added that “companies demonstrate every day that they are key players in tackling major social challenges with innovative, sustainable, efficient, scalable projects with a major positive social impact”.

Sogeviso received the award for its socially responsible housing management. With this distinction, the company was recognised for being the first real estate company to focus on people for the responsible and sustainable management of housing. A project that provides comprehensive management of privately or publicly owned housing stocks, in the form of social and affordable rentals, providing them with tools to improve their quality of life. All of this is very much in line with the objective pursued by the SERES Foundation, which, in the words of its General Manager, Ana Sainz, “these awards are an accolade of the commitment and work of companies to focus on the long term without neglecting support for the most vulnerable people. Leaving no one behind”.

Miguel Montes, Chairman of Sogeviso, stated that our company “has succeeded in leading the way in its sphere of action thanks to an innovative strategy focused on the socially responsible transformation of housing in our country, also incorporating support, training and job placement programmes”. He added that “we are especially honoured by this accolade, which rewards the work and enthusiasm of all the teams and helps us to continue in our aim to lead new projects as an example of public-private partnership”.

The awards ceremony was attended, on behalf of Sogeviso, by the aforementioned Miguel Montes, as well as Xavier Aspachs (Deputy Chairman), Javier García del Río (general manager) and Gemma Feliu (director of Social Impact and Mediation). They were accompanied by Josep Oliu, Chairman of the Banco Sabadell Group.

The other winners at the fourteenth edition of the SERES Awards were CaixaBank, Ebro Foods and the Telefónica Foundation. The SERES Foundation has consolidated the promotion and encouragement of companies’ social actions and has become a model in the exchange of good business practices that connect economic progress and social advances in the country.
